Delivered presentation

Dissemination of the RESHeat project, including the concept, advantages, applicability, scalability, demonstration plants, and research, are conducted via various channels. Presentation is one of the important approaches to enhancing the visibility of the project and its outcome. It is conducted in various venues such as conferences, symposiums, workshops, and to the public. We tried to reach out to stakeholders (academia, industry, policy maker, layman) with different backgrounds, maximizing the benefit of the project outcome.

1. Dissemination to Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic, 1 February 2024, Praha, Czech Republic

Dr Šárka Zemanová was invited by the Ministry of the Environment to make a presentation for the acquaintance of the Department of Energy and Climate Protection with the project H2020 – LC – SC3 – EE – 2020 – 1 RESHeat (Renewable energy system for residential building heating and electricity production). The meeting took place on February 1st, 2024, in Vršovická 1442/65, Praha.

2. Dissemination to Ministry of Industry and Trade Czech Republic, 18 January 2024, Praha, Czech Republic

Dr Šárka Zemanová was invited by Ministry of Industry and Trade Czech Republic to make a presentation for the acquaintance of the employees with the project H2020 – LC – SC3 – EE – 2020 – 1 RESHeat (Renewable energy system for residential building heating and electricity production). Invited lunch talk by DeCarbonisation of Cooling and Heating (DeCarbCH) research team. DeCarbCH is a research project sponsored by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy’s “SWEET” programme,  addressesing the colossal challenge of decarbonisation of heating and cooling in Switzerland within three decades and it prepares the grounds for negative CO2 emissions.

5. 8th International Conference on Smart and Sustainable Technologies, 20 – 23 June 2023, Split / Bol, Croatia

This conference comprises of participants from academicians and industry practitioners with different background, particularly IoT and building system.

A dedicated session showcase the latest developments and progress of the RESHeat project is organised. The presentations are focused on the issues of modelling RESHeat system operation and assessing its environmental impact. The industrial partners present technical aspects of the project, including the technologies used and the concept of system integration.

The workshop starts with the introduction by Prof. Paweł Ocłoń

1. 3rd Conference on Biomass and Alternative Fuels in District Heating, 17 March 2022, Radziejowice, Poland

Dr Piotr Cisek (CUT) gave a speech entitled: “RESHeat as an energy trigeneration system using RES for the production of electricity, heat, and cooling for residential, industrial, and passive buildings.” The conference is an industry event attended by representatives of the heating sector, local government units, and RES companies.

 

2. 5th South East European Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems (SEE SDEWES), 22-26 May, Vlore, Albania

5th SEE SDEWES hybrid conference has brought together around 206 scientists, researchers, and experts in the field of sustainable development from 36 countries . RESHeat project is presented and the scientific information to develop the project further is gathered. New network has also been established. It is inline with the Work Package 6. 3. 45th International Conference of SSCHE & PERMEA 2022, 23 – 26 May 2022, Tatranské Matliare, Slovakia

SSCHE 2022 and PERMEA 2022 is organized by the Slovak Society of Chemical Engineering with assistance of the Institute of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering of the Slovak University of Technology. The conference is attended by academicians, engineers and company representatives . One of the RESHeat member is invited to deliver a plenary lecturer with title of Minimising Environmental Footprint of Waste Generation and Recovery Beyond Process Level. Several collaborations could be expected in the coming future. The research idea captured through discussion will be further developed.

4. 9th International Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management, 15-18 June 2022, Corfu, Greece

A lecture entitled Plastic Waste Forecasting and Potential Application in Renewable Energy System and Building for Environmental Footprint Mitigation by Fan, Y.V., Lee, C.T., Klemeš, J.J., Ocłoń, P. is delivered. Lectures and discussions with experts are associated with one of the project goals of RESHeat, which is “economic efficiency assessment, life cycle analysis and environmental impact assessment of RESHeat systems”. The sustainability of RESHeat systems could be further enhanced by tackling end-of-life management instead of limiting at the production and utilisation stages. The potential recovery or recycling pathway of solar panels, the LCA accounting method, and the potential integration such as solar thermal power for supporting the recycling process (e.g. pyrolysis) are explored in the conference.

5. 7th International Conference on Smart and Sustainable Technologies, 5 July – 8 July 2022, Split and Bol, Croatia (Hybrid)

7th international Conference on Smart and Sustainable Technologies is a conference participated by both academia and industry members where several topics and workshops closely related to RESheat project are delivered. For example “Smart hybrid cooling techniques for siliceuos photovoltaic panels: project outcome” and “symposia on mitigation and adaption strategies towards decarbonization of build environment”. It serves as a good platform to publicise the project and widen the network.

2023

1. Meet the Mayor 2023, Brno, Czech Republic, 2 February 2023

Prof Dr-Habil Petar Varbanov was invited by the Brno Expat Centre to meet the Mayor of Brno and representatives of the City Council. The meeting took place on 2 February 2023, in the Brno City Hall, Dominikánské náměstí 1, 602 00 Brno, from 17:00 until 19:30. Prof Varbanov took part in the official programme of the meeting, and within the networking part of the event, had meetings with the Mayor, as well as more discussions with advisors to the Mayor and representatives of the City Council. Prof Varbanov also conveyed the message that the city authority representatives will be welcome at the RESHeat Workshop to be held in November 2023 as a main event of the SPIL’23 conference.

As part of the networking, Prof Varbanov had a discussion with doc. RNDr Anna Putnová PhD MBA – the municipality’s representative for innovation and cooperation with research organisations.

Prof Varbanov also discussed the RESHeat project with the other meeting participants and the technical representatives of the city administration.

 

2022

1. Workshop on new generation of thermo-modernization of building resources with consideration of climate change, 27 May 2022

GIL Gallery hosted the Workshop “New generation of thermo-modernization of building resources with consideration of climate change”, organized by the Malopolska Center for Building-Energy Efficiency together with the Center of Research Development of CUT, and supported by the Municipal District Heating of Krakow City.

The workshop was divided into several parts/sessions, the purpose of which was to delve into the topic of how the thermo-modernization of building resources currently looks like from the side of regulations/technical conditions and also from the side of innovative solutions that scientists are working on.

The session on domestic and foreign projects was opened by Prof. Pawel Ocłoń Director of the Center of Research Development of CUT and profesor at Energy Department of CUT with a lecture entitled ” Innovations in the thermal modernization of buildings with regard to accessibility – RESHEAT project.”

At the end, the Mayor of Tarnów Roman Ciepiela presented actions to increase energy efficiency in the city of Tarnów.

The speakers’ speeches aroused great interest and were the beginning for many interesting discussions. Among the invited participants were representatives of local governments, scientists and entrepreneurs from the construction industry.

4. Green Neighbourhood Meeting

Teams meeting with representatives of more than 20 residential buildings associations and Director of Municipal Economy of Cracow – Mr. Andrzej Łazęcki. Green neighbourhood concept is one of the new project supported by Krakow city. The project aims to develop a clean Energy Transition for Residential Buildings Cooperatives (RBC) in Cracow. The RESHeat system is recommended as one of two solutions for those RBC. In total the Teams meeting with more than 20 housing Cooperatives Directors has been made to present the final project report.  

5. Night Horizon show of the Bulgarian National Radio, 14-15 August 2022

An outreach activity to the wider action in Bulgaria has been made. Assoc Prof Dr Varbanov has presented the RESHeat project at the “Night Horizon” show of the Bulgarian National Radio. The show was aired in the first hour and a half of 8/15/2022. The overall show was on the broader topic of clean energy. The RESHeat presentation was made within this context as providing a good-practice example of the economic and environmentally-friendly utilization of renewable energy sources.

1. Meeting with Ministry of Climate and Environment of Poland, 13 May 2021
